BMW has revealed the facelifted BMW M3 for the 2025 model year, endowing it with many of the same upgrades that the 2025 BMW M4 was recently blessed with. Chief among those is a boost in power for the Competition model with M xDrive AWD, with the S58B30T0 3.0-liter straight-six turbocharged engine now delivering 523 hp at 6,250 rpm and 473 lb-ft of torque.

The torque curve is wider, with maximum twist now available from 2,750-5,730 rpm (the 2024 M3’s maximum torque was only available up until 5,500 rpm). Regardless of the model you have, the top speed is limited to 155 mph unless you opt for the M Driver’s Pack, which moves the limit to 180 mph. 0-60 mph takes 3.4 seconds, as before.

Subtle Styling Upgrades

There’s little to differentiate the 2025 M3 from its predecessor, but the changes are noticeable. At the front, the LED daytime running lights and turn signal indicators have adopted an arrow shape. The headlights consolidate both low- and high-beam functions into a single module, and M Shadowline lights with darker accents inside the housings are optionally available. At the rear, the model badge on the trunk lid of Competition models gets a silver border accent. Finally, a new set of wheels has been added to the options list: Style 825M wheels in a bright silver finish. No changes have been made to the taillight design, unlike the M4.

In the cabin, the steering wheel has been redesigned with new spokes and now features a flat-bottomed rim and a red center marker at the noon mark. Optionally, the same leather wheel can be finished in Alcantara. Other changes include the interior trims being finished in Aluminum Rhombicle Anthracite, with M Carbon Fiber and a new M Fine Brushed Aluminum option also available, and the optional Sensatec faux leather dash has a “more refined surface.”

Enhanced Technology

As with every other contemporary Bimmer, the infotainment system and driver cluster are formed by the BMW iDrive system with its latest software: BMW Operating System 8.5. The Curved Display features a 12.3-inch screen for the driver and a 14.9-inch touchscreen in the center, and since this is an M3, it gets M-specific graphics. As with the latest M4, climate controls are now handled by widgets along the bottom of the display. Meanwhile, the air vent grilles have new adjustment controls. Options include the M Carbon Exterior Package with carbon fiber-reinforced plastic inlays for the front intakes, rear diffuser, mirror housings, and rear spoiler.

The M Carbon Package is something different and gives you the aforementioned Alcantara steering wheel along with:

• M Carbon ceramic brakes (with gold calipers replacing the standard M Compound brakes in blue, red, or black)
