Acura NSX Could Be Revived As Electric Honda Supercar In Two Years
The electric performer will reportedly be the halo model in the electric 0 Series. Expected to launch in 2026, the range will initially comprise a sedan and minivan but will expand with the new sports car. These models will wear the new Honda badge, but we can expect the NSX successor to be badged as an Acura if and when it arrives in America.
0 Series vehicles will be very different from the current crop of Honda electric vehicles. The automaker plans to extract superior battery performance and efficiency from a smaller battery pack. Not only is this better for the environment, but it should make the sports car lighter, making for a more enjoyable driving experience. For a supercar with huge power, that’s less critical, but if there is any truth to the rumors of an electric S2000, lightweight batteries would show their worth especially well in an affordable, agile drop-top.
Notably, a smaller battery will free up interior space. Honda aims for rapid charging times, with 15-80% recharge taking less than 15 minutes.
