ELRIG UK & The Protein Society host drug discovery conference

This collaboration aims to unite experts from various fields to explore how emerging protein science can address the challenges in drug discovery.

ELRIG UK, known for its commitment to delivering high-quality scientific conferences and networking events, focuses on innovative research that can transform drug discovery. TPS, an international scholarly society dedicated to advancing protein research, will bring its extensive expertise to this joint event. Together, they will create an interdisciplinary forum that fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange among scientists from academia, biopharma, and CROs.

Protein Sciences in Drug Discovery 2024 will take place from 18–19 November at Hinxton Hall Conference Centre in Cambridge, UK. This interactive event will feature discussions on high-throughput protein expression, antigen generation for antibody and vaccine discovery, analytical techniques for protein quality assessment, and the use of cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) in evaluating druggability. The conference will also cover sequence-based predictive methods and include poster presentations, networking sessions, and a vendor exhibition. Additionally, travel bursaries will be available for early career professionals.

Melanie Leveridge, Chair of ELRIG UK and Vice President of Discovery Biology at AstraZeneca, said: “Our organizations share a unifying goal — to provide a platform that enables academia and industry to exchange knowledge that supports innovation and fosters collaboration across the life science community. We are delighted to join forces with the renowned Protein Society to deliver this year’s Protein Sciences in Drug Discovery event.”
