Little-known hack for kitchen sink hole leaves people surprised as real use explained
People have been finding out about a secret use for the kitchen sink hole that can be a game-changer when it comes to dishwashing.
While many may have previously overlooked the small circle on some kitchen sinks, thanks to one TikTok user they may now take advantage of its hidden function.
TikTok creator Kyran unveiled the practical use behind the small hole in a detailed and enlightening video shared with fellow app users.
The content creator began: “If you go under your sink, you’ll see it’s got a little clip you can untie.
“Make sure you untie this and take out the metal circle like that so it leaves a hole there.
“I bet you’re wondering, ‘Why’s that hole there, Kyran? Why is it there?’ I’m about to show you right now.”
Kyran proceeded to demonstrate how to insert a bottle of washing-up liquid equipped with a convenient pump into the hole.
He elaborated: “So you get a bottle and you want to fill it up with your fairy liquid.
“Now what you want to do is put this here, screw it in tight to keep it in place and then you just want to grab your bottle of Fairy liquid, pop it at the bottom and start screwing it in and now look how easy it is to get soap on your sponge.”
Adding to the discussion, some viewers chimed in with their own interpretation of the purpose behind the small hole, proposing a plausible alternative theory.
The prevailing knowledge seemed to suggest that the hole is intended for fitting taps on either side of the sink.
One person said: “It’s a tap hole so, you can have the drainer left or right. They come with cover plate.”
