There are multiple trim levels, including the CX-5’s red interior treatment in the 2.5 S Carbon Edition. Red is only available on that trim level, though, since every other trim offers choices of black, or parchment-colored leather, cloth, or leatherette.

The Mazda CX-5’s 2024 interior comes with a host of practical standard features, like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If your budget allows for more than the base trim level, you’ll find heated seats, rear air conditioning, and paddle shifters.

The Mazda CX-5 interior has a back seat that is also a comfortable place to sit for long drives, since it has 39.6 inches of legroom and 39 inches of headroom. When compared to the Mazda CX-30, which has 36.3 inches of legroom and almost an inch less headroom, the CX-5 seems rather spacious for taller passengers. However, the CX-5 is more comparable to the CX-50 in terms of interior dimensions.

The differences are not as pronounced as they should be.

All Mazda CX-5 trims come with a six-speed automatic transmission. No manual transmission is available.

The Mazda CX-5’s exterior has refined and smooth-flowing lines throughout. The grille isn’t too big, nor too small, and features an almost aggressive expression with its slightly downward-angled headlights.
7
Powering the 2024 Mazda CX-30 is either a naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes up to 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, or the higher trims get a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that, when using 93-octane fuel, makes up to 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough power to have fun while not breaking the bank too much.

Cargo space in the CX-5 is larger than in the CX-30 as well. While the CX-30 only has 20.2 cubic feet behind the second row of seats, the CX-5 has 29.1 cubic feet, and reaches up to 59.3 cubic feet with the seats folded down.

Every trim level of the CX-5 comes with all-wheel-drive as standard. If you choose the 2.5 S Premium Plus trim or higher, though, you also get Mazda Intelligent Drive Select, which offers sport and off-road modes.
