Baby Alfa Romeo SUV Gets Name Familiar To American Fans
Since there isn’t even a picture of the Milano yet, we aren’t shocked to hear that the powertrain details are equally limited. Alfa Romeo confirmed that the Milano “will also be available in a 100% electric version,” hinting that there will be a gasoline or hybrid version as well. Assuming it will share powertrains with the Avenger, the Milano should be available with a 1.2-liter turbo three-cylinder engine mated to a hybrid system, producing 155 horsepower and 177 lb-ft.
The electric variant should pack a 53 kWh battery powering a single front electric motor developing 154 hp and 192 lb-ft. The WLTP-rated range for the Avenger is 250 miles (around 223 miles on the EPA cycle).
In all honesty, the inclusion of a hybrid model here is pushing Alfa Romeo’s promises to the limit of believability. “The next vehicle that comes after Tonale is a BEV,” Larry Dominique, head of the Alfa Romeo brand in North America, previously said. “And everything we introduce after that point is BEVs, starting in 2025.” This is technically not a lie because the Milano has a BEV version, but it’s certainly not a whole truth.
