One-Off Kaiju Quartermaster Is Ready For Any Off-Road Adventure
Ineos Automotive, a British builder of specialty 4x4s, has just revealed the latest work of its Australian operation, a special project with a Japanese name. The new Kaiju Quartermaster is a custom-built one-off designed to turn heads, explore possibilities, and sell gear. Leveraging supplier partnerships, it demonstrates the level of customization that customers of the Grenadier and Quartermaster models can access. The Kaiju Quartermaster was built with the expertise of well-known suppliers like Norweld, Rhino-Rack, Brown Davis, REDARC, JMACX, GME, BF Goodrich, MAXTRAX, and STEDI, each of which is well-established and familiar to the Australian off-road community.
A Rolling Accessory Showcase
Plenty of outfits have modified Ineos off-roaders, including even Mansory. But here, it’s all about function. Equipment on the special build includes premium fitment options such as the Norweld Elite Tray and Compact Deluxe Lite Canopy, engineered to handle extreme conditions and give drivers the versatility to carry, organize, and protect a wide range of gear and supplies while keeping more sensitive cargo away from water and dust. A long-range fuel tank from Brown Davis tucks in behind the rear bumper, expanding fuel capacity from 90 liters to 168.

For off-grid power and storage, the Quartermaster Kaiju gets an electrical system from REDARC featuring RS3 Pure Sine Wave Inverters, an Alpha150 150A lithium battery, and a management system with full protection. That helps feed an extensive STEDI lighting system with flood and spot beams. Don’t miss the MAXTRAX beach recovery kit, or the GME communications system with a handheld CB radio, heavy-duty antenna, and personal locator beacon.

There’s something for everyone: a V8, a rally version, a unibody ‘Shortermaster,’ and even a Quartermaster with portal axles.
The Kaiju Quartermaster rides on a 16-stage adjustable suspension and wears BF Goodrich KM3 Mud Terrain tires. There’s a factory-accessory Roo Bar, too. INEOS Automotive will extend the vehicle’s warranty to cover select aftermarket components featured on the Kaiju Quartermaster when ordered through retailers, providing added peace of mind when customizing.
Ineos Names Always Hold Special Significance
Built on the Grenadier Quartermaster Cab Chassis, the Kaiju Quartermaster is named in part after a mythical ‘giant creature’ or ‘monster’ in Japanese, with the name chosen to convey capability. Ineos went with a Japanese word, in this case, as a nod to Australia’s obsession with modified off-roaders that are often Japanese in origin.

The Grenadier will receive smaller and larger siblings, giving consumers more choices. The automaker is also eyeing US production.
Quartermaster has different meanings depending on where you’re looking. Broadly, a Quartermaster is someone known for dependability and preparedness, keeping troops supplied, and taking care of logistics in a military setting. Grenadiers had to toss grenades and were often found at the forefront of attacks and chosen for their bravery and strength. American buyers will need to display patience, though, as the Grenadier is facing delays, with US deliveries to begin only in March.
“We wanted to create a truly unique Quartermaster together with some incredibly innovative local accessory partners. The Quartermaster Cab Chassis is a ‘blank canvas’ that allows for great versatility when it comes to customization, so together with these project partners, we let our imagination run wild. Ultimately, the ‘Kaiju Quartermaster’ expresses our Australian vision of Built For More.”
