The Chrysler Pacifica Is Getting Crushed By Honda And Toyota In Sales
The Chrysler Pacifica has been the Toyota Tacoma of the minivan segment. Chrysler sold 119,889 units of the Pacifica in 2024, which was a relatively flat sales year. But Chrysler’s offerings still outsold the second-place Honda Odyssey by 48%. And now, there’s a relaunched Chrysler Voyager back in the mix, taking the place of the lower-spec Pacifica. However, Stellantis just published its Q2 2025 sales numbers, and things are not looking good.
Chrysler’s enduring minivan has experienced a double-digit year-over-year decline. That drop comes at a time when multiple competitors are experiencing sales increases of more than 50%. What was a prodigious lead in the segment for Chrysler has nearly evaporated so far this year.

Combined, 57,756 Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager minivans have been sold through the first half of 2025. That’s down 18.5% year-over-year from 2024. Much of that is due to Q2 2025. Chrysler sold 23,028 vans in Q2 2025, compared to 37,768 in Q2 2024, representing a 39% decline.
Chrysler’s decline has been compounded by the rest of the segment booming simultaneously. Toyota has sold 52,762 Sienna minivans year to date, a 62.5% increase. A Toyota spokesperson told CarBuzz that was due to demand, which “continues to be at an all-time high.” With just a two-day supply of dealer stock, “nearly every one is sold before it arrives.”

The future looks bleak for this once revered auto manufacturer.
Toyota isn’t the only brand seeing record minivan interest. Kia has sold 33,152 Carnivals, a 57% increase. The Honda Odyssey is also having a strong year, with sales up 27.4% to 50,033 units.
Why Chrysler Pacifica Sales Are Down
Chrysler still offers a very well-rounded minivan lineup. The Pacifica is the only minivan with a plug-in hybrid offering an electric-only range. There’s also an all-wheel-drive Pacifica. The Pacifica features Chrysler’s Stow-N-Go seats, which allow the second- and third-row seats to fold flat for extra cargo storage. And there’s also the super-lux Pacifica Pinnacle trim with leather-trimmed lumbar pillows for the second row.
Pricing has been an issue for Stellantis brands. But the Pacifica lineup is priced competitively with the competition, and bringing the Voyager back to the retail market offers a slightly more affordable option. The Pacifica is getting up there in years, though, having debuted for the 2017 model year. Then again, the Odyssey debuted in 2018.
Stellantis would not provide much clarity on the issue. A spokesperson noted that Pacifica and Voyager’s combined retail sales were up 1% in Q2 and 5% year-to-date, which suggests the issue resides in the non-retail portion of Chrysler’s minivan market. Chrysler’s vans are built in Canada, not the United States. Stellantis has had multiple plant shutdowns in Canada since the Trump administration announced tariffs in April. And Chrysler Pacifica availability has fluctuated in the past due to supply chain issues.
