When you love the outdoors, it’s quite common to use your car to show it. A window sticker for your favorite park or hiking trail. Rolls-Royce buyers are just like everyone else. To show off their love for their favorite places to hike, they create a half-million-dollar one-off Cullinan SUV.

A special SUV with a module to hold their hiking gear and a starlight headliner that matches the star view from their favorite hiking area. A hiking area that happens to be in one of the fanciest ski areas in their country.

This Rolls Is A Flowery Tribute To A Special Trail

The inspiration for this commission came from a field of daisies on my favorite trail in the High Tatras mountains – a place I return to when I need to clear my thoughts. I’m continuously amazed not only by the beauty but the resilience of this flower that seems to thrive in the face of nature’s challenges. The latest bespoke commission, called Daisy, starts with powder blue paint to represent the skies over the High Tatras mountains, a range along the border between Slovakia and Poland. The daisy flower that is part of the pinstripe (and a motif that carries around this Rolls) marks a field of the flowers on the customer’s favorite trail.

It’s a repeating theme inside the Cullinan as well. The daisy is featured on the front fascia, as well as on the waterfall between the rear seats. To apply the daisy to the Blackwood surface, Rolls craftspeople actually media blast the wood with “a stream of fine mineral particles.” The process adds depth to the flower, letting the light play across it in ways it wouldn’t with a more traditional method.

Fleet blue leather inside is set off by gray and black leather. The headrest monograms contrast with the seats, and it has daisy design door sill plates. It also has a pair of special umbrellas in the rear doors. They’re plain on the outside, but the inner liner shows a playful field of daisies in bloom.

Starry Skies And A Place To Hold Your Boots

The now almost mandatory custom starlight headliner shows four of the “great constellations” you can see in the buyer’s favorite mountains. Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, Gemini, and Taurus.

Because you can’t go hiking in a Rolls without a tremendous amount of the proper kit, there is a Recreation Module mounted in the trunk. It’s a storage compartment that pops out of the back that holds the buyer’s gear. Rolls says the owner “built their success in the outdoor and adventure equipment sector,” so we’re expecting some swanky and high-end stuff in there.

Wherever the trail, the Black Badge Cullinan should get them there quickly and comfortably. The Black Badge model boosts the twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12 engine from 563 horsepower in standard trim to 591 horsepower. It also boosts torque, with 664 lb-ft on hand from just 1,700 rpm. Completely unbefitting a Rolls, it has a valved exhaust to let the driver uncork the big SUV and let the V12 sound rumble. It also, strangely, has shorter brake pedal travel. Rolls says it’s to make the responses more immediate.
