West Indies and England go head to head in the WI vs ENG 2nd ODI in Antigua, on December 6 Wednesday The Windies won the first ODI and are looking for a win in the second to clinch the ODI series. Both teams play a five-match T20I series after the ongoing ODI series.

West Indies, who are led by Shai Hope won the first ODI in the back of Hope’s unbeaten ton. He is amongst the top run-getters in 2023. He was handed over the leadership after the West Indies failed to qualify for the ODI World Cup 2023. The skipper has given his team a winning start in the series.

England, on the other hand, after a disappointing World Cup campaign started the series with a loss. Their bowlers could not defend 325. This is a young and inexperienced bowling attack with the senior players rested. Young leggie Rehan Ahmed took two for 40 while all the other bowlers had an economy of more than 6.

West Indies did not qualify for the ODI World Cup while England entered the tournament as the defending champions and finished seventh on the points table. A loss to Afghanistan in the World Cup was a new low for the former defending champions. The current side is looking to move forward and build a squad that can win the T20 World Cup 2024.

West Indies and England have played 103 ODIs with the Windies winning 45 games and England winning 52. The last time both these two teams met in an ODI was in the 2019 ODI World Cup with England beating the Windies by 8 wickets.
